Questions you should be asking photographers when you inquire with them to capture your special day, along with my answers!
Are you ready to hire a photographer for your wedding day? Do you know someone who is? Save this post and share with your friends!

As a wedding photographer, I understand the importance in choosing the right person to photograph your special day. To help you know what to ask, and to better get to know me and my services, I have compiled a FAQ list:
What you should know before even submitting an inquiry...
Does the photographer have experience photographing weddings? Weddings are big days so having a photographer that knows what they're doing and has proof to back that up, is SUPER important. I have photographed 7 weddings professionally, in my 3 years of business. I have otherwise been a maternity, newborn & family photographer for over 16 years. So to say that I take nice pictures is a total understatement. I know how to photograph and pose (if you want/need that) people!
Do you like the photographer's portfolio?
What you see online, might not be what you get! What does that mean? Photographers, myself included, only post to their socials their absolute favorite images from wedding albums. Which means you may only see 20 photos tops of a full wedding day covered. You have every right to ask the photographer to view full wedding albums that they have delivered in the past. You'll be able to see how they handle family portraits, what kind of detail shots they take and really get a feel for their editing style. Not to mention get an idea of the number of images to expect!
My portfolio is a mix of posed, candid and intimate moments. I capture what happens in the moment and my editing lets you see the same. My editing style is traditional, true to color yet vibrant. You can view 4 of my most recent weddings below:

Emergencies happen; How is it handled?
I am equipped with two camera bodies and serval lenses. This is in case of technical malfunction, I will have backup gear to complete the job. While I have never missed an event due to unforeseen circumstances, I have an ever-growing list of associate photographers I can call upon to replace me, if-needed.
Package pricing and what's included
All photographers will have different package options for wedding day photography. Usually, those prices are based on hours of coverage. So, what else effects the cost? (Along with my pricing)
-Engagement Sessions ($285 if scheduled separately - included complimentary when you schedule a wedding day package)
-Second Shooter ($100/hour)
-Videography/Content Creation ($750/full day) (Samantha Farmer - Mrs.FilmProduction - mrsfilmproduction@gmail.com)
-Travel fees ($100-$500 depending on distance)
Here are my package options & SOME of what's included:
$2,200 - Traditional Wedding - All day coverage (up to 10 hours) - 10x10 Printed album
$1,150 - Elopements - Up to 4 hours - 6x6 Album
With all of my packages, engagement sessions are included complimentary, as a way for us to get to know each other. I can and will help plan your wedding day timeline to ensure we get the most beautiful photos possible!
When can you expect final photos back?
On average, the general answer will be 8-12 weeks. For me personally, I'm up to 12 weeks. I have to overestimate my delivery time, because I have a three-year-old and chaos dogs LOL. I balance spending time with my family and editing while everyone is asleep.

Ready to inquire? Here's a few important points to mention in your message to a Wedding Photographer:
-Your wedding date, general month or season you're considering (Duh!)
-Venue or general location (city, state)
-If you're planning anything non-traditional or any other fun ideas you have
-Desired length of coverage OR what your budget is, so a package can be tailored to your budget
-Mention your interest in a second shooter or videography coverage, so their availability can be checked as soon as possible
